Replacing day-to-day and research software with open sources alternatives - a work and list in progress!
I've had students and other researchers ask me about open source software for research. It's a good way to limit our reliance on the tech-bro-oligarchy. It also has important practical benefits for open and transparent research, knowing what is happening with the data we hold about others through auditable code, and making social research accessible to organisations without a massive budget for software. I'll update this list as I learn more.
